First a little history.
In 1976 Seiko introduced the 6309-704* series, to replace the 6105-811* series.
This new model, the 704* series had, just like its predecessor the fat cushion style case.
The later 729* models had a much slimmer case. The cushion or turtle style case is very popular amongst collectors.
Where the 6105 models are very scares, with prices up to € 500,–, you can find the 6309 models, but they are getting
scarser to. I found this watch, a 6309-7040, and converted in into a 6105, including 6105 dial, and hands, with the distinctive
2 colored second hand.

Eerst wat geschiedenis
In 1976 introduceerde Seiko de 6309-704* serie, om de 6105-811* serie te vervangen.
Dit nieuwe model, de 704* serie, had, net als zijn voorganger, de kenmerkende kussen-kast. Een kast die wat breder is dan latere modellen,
de 729* serie, die een veel smallere kast hadden. Dit type horloge is erg gezocht onder verzamelaars.
Het oude type, de 6105 wordt nu zeer zeldzaam, met prijzen tot € 500,– terwijl het nieuwere model makkelijker te vinden is.
Ook dit model komt al minder op de markt.
Ik vond een oude 6309-7040, and heb hem opgeknapt tot een 6105, inclusief wijzerplaat en wijzers, inclusief de kenmerkende 2 kleurige secondenwijzer

This one I made for our goalie. He is a road worker, and did my backyard.
He didnt want to get payed for the job. I knew he was looking for a blue watch. So I made one for him.

This one I made for Marc.
He wanted an orange watch.
I gave the movement an overhaul, and changed everything but the case.

I started out with this:

And this is what it became. Later I changed the strap for an all orange rubber one.

This Seiko 7002 came as part of a lot of 12 watches. 11 went in the bin, this one was saved.
After an overhaul the movement came to live. I gave it a new crystal, bezel insert, hands and dial.
I polished the case a little, and gave it a strap.

Here another midsize Seiko.
I restored the dial, because I liked the silver lined round indices.
You see some spots on it, but it gives a ‘vintage’ feeling on the watch.
I kinda liked it.
